Motorcycles

BLASTED THINGS!   The Bicycle was one thing. Two wheels, you pedaled as hard as you could and your walk home was a bit shorter. Those Automotive things were another. Sure they're great for hauling things, but they're loud.   AND NOW SOMEONE'S GONE AND MADE A HORRID UNION OF THEM!
— ~A Crumudgeon
While it was the Automobile and the internal combustion engine that first changed the landscape of the Mortal Lands and its capacity for trade and transportation, it was the Motorcycle that gave it metaphorical wings. Small, agile and easy to store in the confined streets of the cities blooming across the countryside, the Motorcyle proved to be an effective, cheap, and fast alternative to the Automobile for many families.

Unconventional Ideas

The First motorcycles were crude. Very crude. Nothing more than a motor strapped to a bicycle, really. But young innovator Mackenzie McNally Idunno Was bound and determined to make a bike that would finally let him outrace his mortal rival once and for all. And after multiple attempts, burns and more than a couple hospital stays, he was sucessful. And while the ensuing race was quickly nullified due to the use of a combustion engine on a bicycle, the resulting interest in the invention catapulted McNally to the heights of fame. Soon everyone wanted one of these bicycles you didn't need to pedal, that were faster and more durable and had such a satisfying roar.   While McNally Motors was the birthplace and the home of the original Motorcycle, competitors and rivals soon popped up all over the eastern Seaboard. Governments started using them as couriers and messengers, able to outpace bandits and outlaws for years, at least until they got ahold of their own. Rambunctious young men with dreams of freedom scrimped and saved to be able to take to the open roads, wherever the wind may take them.
